Obstetric Medicine

Introduction:

One of the greatest health needs in the healthcare sector of Bangladesh lies with the pregnant population.
A particularly difficult challenge in this regard is when pregnant women are afflicted with medical conditions. This falls neither within the established domains of the obstetric teams, nor within the established domains of the medical team in Bangladesh, and hence is associated with a risk of high morbidity and mortality.
With the above in context, it is imperative to develop expertise in obstetric medicine in Bangladesh, through collaboration of the medical and obstetric teams as well as any other allied specialty involved in the care of the pregnant people in Bangladesh.
